Why use
SkyMachines?
Four BIG words:
"Full Disclosure"
& "Satisfaction Guaranteed"

"Full Disclosure"--Two words you won't hear from most aircraft
broker/dealers. To the contrary, the aircraft resale industry has
traditionally followed the same "let the buyer beware" principle followed by
creepy used car lots. Not here: We promise to tell you everything we know
about every airplane we sell.
"Satisfaction Guaranteed"--Two more words you don't hear
in this business. If you're not satisfied with the purchase or service
you receive from us, we'll refund as much of your money as it takes to make
you happy.
We want you to come back to SkyMachines when
it's time to sell the airplane you bought from us. And we want you to buy
and sell with us again and again. We can only survive if our customers are
100% satisfied. Period.
We
believe the old "buyer beware" principle should be done away with for good:
-
We follow a rigid
Code of Ethics developed by the business jet and turboprop-oriented
National Aircraft Resale Association...we're the only piston aircraft
dealer to do so.
-
We apply the best of the
proven business practices of the real estate industry to aircraft
sales...after all, airplanes often cost as much as houses, and a lot more
can go wrong with them. These practices include: Full Disclosure,
independent evaluations, certified appraisals, pre-sale inspections, title
search, escrow services, and written contracts.
What we mean by "Full
Disclosure:"
- The most detailed aircraft spec sheets
anywhere, with an incredible amount of information. (Click
here for a sample.)
- For airplanes we own (and most of those
we broker for other owners), a complete
certified
aircraft appraisal by a member of the National Aircraft
Appraisers Association who has no relationship to SkyMachines. (Although
SkyMachines does appraisals, we will not appraise aircraft in which we
have an interest.) The appraisal is your guarantee that the airplane is
worth what we say it is. You can literally "take it to the bank." In
addition to the appearance and fair market value of the aircraft, the
appraiser will check for AD compliance, logbook completeness, and records
of damage history.
- Honest disclosure of any known
maintenance defects or damage history.
- Honest disclosure of any sales of the
aircraft which have failed in the last 90 days, with the reasons for the
failed sale.
- For airplanes we own (and most of those
we broker for other owners), a copy of the pre-sale inspection by a
certified mechanic. This inspection covers, at a minimum: airframe
corrosion inspection; damage history check; cylinder compression test;
boroscope of cylinders to check for rust, oil and valve condition; inspect
oil filter for metal particles; and an engine oil analysis by a licensed
laboratory.
- Copies of the most recent aircraft
logbooks.
- Copies of the title search.
- Copies of our search for records of the
aircraft in the FAA and NTSB accident/incident databases.
To further protect you:
- We insist on using written legal
documents for every step of the purchase process.
- We accept purchase deposits via credit
card and PayPal (a 3% service charge applies)
We
transfer all purchase deposits into an escrow account at an independent,
licensed, bonded aircraft escrow service in Oklahoma City
We agree to utilize arbitration by AOPA
Legal Service Plan attorneys in the unlikely event of a dispute (we've
never needed this service).
To our knowledge, no
other broker/dealer takes all of these important steps to protect you.
