Timeline
Note: Days and dates are approximate and should be used as
an example only.
Day 1:
-
You fill out our
Free Aircraft
Appraisal form. Be sure to tell us your minimum selling price.
Day 2-3:
-
We'll perform a detailed a detailed analysis of your
aircraft's value in today's marketplace and advise you of the results.
Day 3-4:
-
If you're comfortable with our estimate of your aircraft's
value, you will sign our Aircraft Brokerage Agreement. And if you're not
satisfied with our aircraft market analysis, we can go our separate
ways...you owe us nothing.
Day 5-20:
-
If you choose (and we strongly recommend you do so), we'll
arrange for your aircraft to be detailed, appraised and inspected
mechanically. (Expect to sped around $450 - $750 for "the works")
-
We'll order copies of your aircraft's FAA 337 forms
-
If you choose, we'll order a certified NAAA appraisal of
your airplane (approx. $450 for singles, $750 for twins)
-
If you don't opt for an appraisal, we'll send you detailed
instructions on how to take the photos we need to properly promote your
plane. We'll also request copies of your aircraft's logbooks going back
about 10 years. (We will make these records available for prospective
purchasers to download.)
-
Once we have photos and logbook copies from you or the
appraiser, we'll immediately create
an incredibly detailed
Internet spec sheet for viewing here on SkyMachines. We'll also place
print ads in Controller, Trade-a-Plane, General Aviation News
and others, and detailed Internet ads on those publications'
corresponding sites, plus AOPA, Aircraft.com, Aero Trader,
Barnstormers, and many more. (All of our ads will direct visitors
to our spec sheet for details.)
Day 20-???
-
Our goal is to give each prospective buyer enough
information on our web site that they literally have only one question:
"Is the airplane still available?" But we'll answer our toll-free phone
line and return emails seven days a week in case they still have
questions. Once we know a buyer is serious, we'll provide him or her with
our exclusive Offer to Purchase form. We'll immediately send you all
written offers, and give you a form to counter their offer. We won't give
out your contact information or allow them to disturb you in any way
without your prior permission. Once you and the buyer have agreed on a
selling price, we'll all execute a multi-page Aircraft Sale Agreement
specifying the rights and obligations of each party. We'll then open
escrow, help the buyer arrange travel, inspections, financing, and
insurance, and see that the rest of the process goes smoothly.
