The Famous SkyAssist
Aircraft Brokerage System:
Now Only $3995!

America's Only "Flat-Fee/Full-Service"
Aircraft Brokerage...Satisfaction Guaranteed

Since 2001, our unique SkyAssist system has allowed aircraft sellers to pay a  low flat fee and still receive complete aircraft brokerage services...anywhere in the USA.

We're a full-service aircraft brokerage: which means we will handle all the details and do all the work needed to sell your plane within 120 days, even during the current used airplane recession. You don't pay us until your airplane has sold, and your satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back.

SkyMachines works for you and you alone: we represent your airplane to the world and protect your interests (and privacy) as your exclusive agent. Our mission is to protect your privacy, save you precious time, and get you as much for your airplane as possible.

Your plane will likely sell in less time and for more money than if you tried to sell it yourself. Our extensive sales and marketing knowledge and techniques, coupled with our aggressive promotion efforts, make a huge difference...even in today's tough aircraft sales market. Buying and selling airplanes is all we do.

We do everything you expect of a sales agent, and more. Just because we don't base our commission on the value of your airplane like other brokers do doesn't mean we'll short-change you on service...in fact, we typically spend 40-60 hours on each aircraft deal!

Here's what we will do for you:

  • Quote You A Realistic Selling Price: First, before you spend any money, we will give you an honest, free analysis of your aircraft's value based on selling it within 120 days. We use 3 different aircraft valuation services, then compare the results to the asking prices of similar aircraft currently on the market. If you like the figure we quote, you'll sign an Aircraft Brokerage Agreement with us and we'll take it from there.

  • Order FAA 337 Forms & Registration Documents:  It's reassuring to the Buyer to know that the FAA records are complete, and it allows the aircraft appraiser or mechanic to compare your maintenance records with the FAA records. We'll allow buyers to download this information from our web site. This service is a $49 value and a SkyMachines exclusive!

  • Order An FAA Title Report: If there are problems with the aircraft title that you don't know about, it's best to find them and get them corrected now so that the Closing won't be delayed. We'll allow buyers to download this information from our web site. This service is a $99 value and a SkyMachines exclusive!

  • Arrange For The Aircraft To Be "Detailed": (Optional, but highly recommended.) To obtain the maximum appraised value, and therefore the maximum selling price, we strongly recommend that you utilize the services of WingWaxers or another aircraft detail shop to prepare the airplane for sale. For around $450, they will touch up the paint, power-wax the exterior with a patented aircraft wax, degrease the belly, shampoo the carpets, polish the windows, blacken the tires, and polish the interior plastics.

  • Arrange An Aircraft Appraisal: (Optional, but highly recommended.) Prospective buyers prefer to buy airplanes which have been appraised! That's because they trust a price set by an independent appraiser rather than by you or us. An official appraisal, which we will allow prospective buyers to download from our web site, also reassures prospects that the airplane they are purchasing is in the condition we say it is in and that it will qualify for financing.

At your request, we'll hire a member of the National Aircraft Appraisers Assn. near you to perform an official appraisal of your aircraft. The appraiser will also verify AD compliance, take the photos SkyMachines needs for its ads and spec sheets and may test-fly your airplane to make sure the systems are in good working order.

An appraisal typically costs around $450 for a single, $750 for a twin. Click here for more information about appraisals.

  • Arrange a Pre-Sale Mechanical Inspection: (Optional, but highly recommended.) Did you know that 50% of aircraft sales fail due to the results of the pre-purchase inspection? Don't let it happen to you: Get a pre-sale inspection.

Airplanes inspected in advance by independent shops sell faster and for more. That's because the buyer is assured by an independent third party that the airplane is in good mechanical condition before he or she makes an offer.

When we allow buyers to download a copy of the pre-sale inspection report from an independent shop (preferably a factory-authorized repair station which has not previously worked on the plane), many choose to forgo getting a pre-purchase mechanical inspection, which means the sale can close sooner and has less risk of failing.

For a pre-sale inspection, we will ask the maintenance shop to: inspect the airframe for corrosion and damage; test the engine compression; inspect the oil filter for metal particles (requires oil change); obtain an oil sample and send it to a lab to test; and boroscope the cylinders to check for rust, valve condition, and the presence of oil.

The process typically takes around five hours and costs around $450 for singles, $600 for twins, including an oil change. (Of course, just as with a house sale, if the inspection uncovers defects in the aircraft that might prevent the sale from being completed, you should be prepared to have those items corrected before closing or to discount the sales price accordingly.)

  • Notify Prospects: We often have buyers who previously contacted us who were seeking airplanes like yours.

  • Create The Most Detailed "Spec Sheet" In The Industry: We're constantly getting compliments on our aircraft presentations. When we describe an aircraft to prospective buyers, we strive to give them all the information they need to make up their minds right now.  Click here for an example.

Any broker can create a simple spec sheet with basic information, but our exclusive SkyMachines spec sheets give prospects all the data they need and photos of every part of the plane. We even let them download a copy of the NAAA appraisal, copies of recent aircraft logbook pages, the title report, the 337 forms, the pre-sale mechanical inspection report and more.

Our exclusive spec sheets our designed to give buyers enough information to make a written offer without having seen the plane. We constantly get compliments on the detail of our spec sheets, with many buyers saying they're the most detailed they've ever seen.

  • Promote Your Plane All Over The Internet: While other brokers list their inventory on only 2-3 aircraft-for-sale sites, we publish complete data on your aircraft on 18 different Internet sites, including Trade-a-Plane, AOPA, and Aircraft.com/Controller, ASO.com and many more. We even post your aircraft on overseas aircraft sites.

  • Create Eye-Catching Print Advertisements: Over the years, we've learned what works best to attract prospects, and we'll put this knowledge to work for you in ads describing your plane.

  • Maintain Ads In The Top Print Publications:  We'll keep ads running in Trade-a-Plane, Controller and General Aviation News. Unlike many brokers, we don't let our ads get stale: We continually update and revise them. We may even put an ad in your local newspaper or regional aviation magazine.

  • Provide Buyers With Our Toll-Free Number: Unlike most brokers, we answer buyer calls (and emails) at least 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. SkyMachines insulates you from having to take annoying or inappropriate calls at all hours of the day or night. We are experienced telephone sales consultants, and our proven sales techniques insure that we'll get you top-dollar for your airplane.

  • Get It In Writing: Some airplanes cost more than a house, yet people often buy and sell airplanes with a handshake. BIG MISTAKE. With inspections and a million things which can go wrong, it's important to make sure all aspects of the sale are handled in writing. SkyMachines has all the forms needed to protect your interests and prevent misunderstandings.

  • Negotiate With The Buyer: While we represent your interests, we also take a long term view of the sales process and endeavor to make sure all parties are completely satisfied with the deal. Often, this means we are "in the middle" and facilitating the negotiations—keeping everyone happy and the deal moving along, despite the roadblocks which inevitably develop. (This is where a dealer really earns his or her commission, as personalities often get in the way of face-to-face buyer/seller interactions.)

  • Shield You From "Tire Kickers": One of our primary jobs is to protect your privacy and save you time. Our proven system weeds out "buyers" who aren't really serious. First, we make sure they have been pre-approved for financing and insurance (or what's the point of going further?) Then, if they've seen the appraisal and pre-sale inspection reports, we ask them to negotiate the purchase price before they even see the airplane. We do that using our non-binding Letter of Intent form. (A SkyMachines exclusive!) Only then do we arrange for them to see the airplane.

  • Prepare The Sale Documents: After you accept the buyer's offer and they have seen and test-flown the plane, we'll prepare our exclusive, 6-page Aircraft Purchase & Sale Agreement which thoroughly protects the interests of all parties involved.

  • Collect The Buyer's Deposit: After you both sign the Purchase & Sale Agreement, we'll ask the buyer to deposit with us a 5% good-faith earnest money deposit. We'll even allow them to pay the deposit with a credit card. (A SkyMachines exclusive!)

  • Open And Facilitate Escrow: Once all parties have signed the Sale Agreement, we'll handle all the details of escrow. We use an independent aircraft title and escrow service in Oklahoma City to make sure everyone's interests are fairly represented. Required by most lenders, an escrow company administers the funds and records the documents with the FAA. (You and the buyer will split the $400-$500 independent escrow fee).

  • Assist The Buyer With Locating Financing And Insurance. Part of making sure that the interests of all parties in a transaction are protected is helping the buyer figure out how to finance and insure the airplane. We work with many lenders and insurers across the country and keep the process moving.

  • Assist The Buyer With The Pre-Purchase Inspection: We'll make the calls and coordinate everything for you and the buyer so that you don't have to spend your time dealing with it.

  • Facilitate "Closing" Of The Sale: Upon mutual direction from you and the buyer, the earnest money deposit and the balance of the purchase price will be transferred to you...we don't get paid until you do, so you can rest assured that we'll do what it takes to make sure the sale goes through as painlessly as possible.

  • Arrange For Delivery: We'll even find someone to deliver the aircraft to the buyer, no matter where in the world he or she is located! We know how to export aircraft.

SkyAssist Is NOT Expensive!

Other brokers won't admit it, but it costs the same for them to sell any airplane, regardless of its selling price. So why do they charge you a commission based on the value of the airplane? We don't like it, so we don't do it.

Unlike other brokers, who charge 6-9% of the sales price, SkyMachines has reasonable flat fees for the SkyAssist brokerage program...so you'll know exactly what our services will cost up front.

Aircraft Type SkyAssist Fee
Piston Single $3995
Piston Twin $5995
Turbine $9995

It's that simple! Our fee includes all the services above. The only extras are for outside advertising (typically around $300/mo.) and the optional items for which you pay third-party services: the appraisal (approx. $450 for singles; $750 for twins; $1250 for turboprops), pre-sale mechanical inspection (approximately $450 for singles), title search ($99), AD record search ($99) and outside escrow service (approximately $300).

SkyAssist pays for itself: We are usually able to sell your airplane for more, and in less time, than you could sell it yourself.

You Don't Pay Unless It Sells!

At closing, the escrow agent will subtract our fee from the balance due to you. The terms of the SkyAssist arrangement will be agreed-upon up-front and in writing in our Aircraft Brokerage Agreement.  The agreement is for 6 months. During the term of the agreement, we will bill you monthly for the actual costs of the advertising (approx. $300/mo.)
